We Stand For Peace and We Stand With Ukraine
Our thoughts at Utah Society for Public Health Education (USOPHE) and the Utah Public Health Association (UPHA) turn to the Ukrainian people, the Ukrainian community of Utah, and those who are concerned for their friends and family in the region. We recognize that this conflict is a public health issue as many people are without adequate food, water, shelter, and most importantly physical and psychological safety.
We recognize many people are experiencing hopelessness and fear of global conflict. This may be impacting the mental health of our local community and beyond. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones. Mental health services are available for those who need it in our communities, please seek out help:
• Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 800-273-8255
• Live On Utah
• NAMI Utah
• Faith Leaders
• Employee Assistance Programs
We understand this time can feel helpless but there are ways to make a difference for those whose lives are being impacted by this war. If you are able, consider the ways in which you may be able to help those whose lives are being impacted by this war. Many organizations could use your time, supplies, or monetary contributions to support Ukraine:
• Show Up Utah by First Lady Abby Cox
• Community Foundation of Utah
• Driven to Assist
• UNICEF
• Lifting Hands International
• Volunteer efforts offered through your congregation
Our hearts are with the Ukrainian people. We stand for peace and we stand with Ukraine.
