Why is Public Health advocacy important?

USOPHE advocates to support the health education profession by providing advocacy training and building capacity for policy engagement for our members. To do this, we partner with the Utah Public Health Association (UPHA) to host a single unified Advocacy Unit.

How you can advocate:

    • Contact your legislator
    • Write an op-ed
    • Testify in a committee meeting

Join the USOPHE/UPHA Advocacy Unit

If you'd like to join other health educators across Utah in advocating for public health initiatives, join the joint USOPHE/UPHA Advocacy Unit!

This unit plans an annual Public Health Day on the Hill during the Utah Legislative session and provides an advocacy training each fall
